Toronto -
Canadian sunseekers continue to flock to Mexico despite a spate of drug-related violence along the Mexican-U.S. border.
Ottawa issued a travel advisory this week after two Americans were slain across the border from El Paso, Texas.
Tripcentral.ca says it hasn't seen a lot of cancellations and that people feel safe in Mexico's popular tourist areas.
Pierre Tessier of Transat Holidays in Montreal also says Mexico-bound travellers are going ahead with their plans.
A spokesman for the Mexican Tourist Board in Toronto says Canadian tourism to Mexico has not been hurt so far by the violence.
The spokesman says there was an eight per cent rise in Canadian visits to Mexico last year over 2008, or about 1.2 million Canadians.
Maureen Meyer, a Mexico expert at the Washington Office on Latin America, says among Mexico's top tourist spots, only Acapulco has been dragged into the ongoing drug wars.
