An investigation by conservation officers with the Department of Natural Resources in the Gambo area has resulted in the conviction of five hunters for various big game and all-terrain vehicle (ATV) violations.
The hunters received fines ranging from $200 to $3,700 and three of the hunters were also prohibited from holding a big game licence for five years.
Four of the hunters appeared in provincial court earlier this month for violations under the Wildlife Act and the Motorized Snow Vehicle and All-Terrain Vehicles Act. The fifth appeared in court in January.
Offences include the illegal possession of big game, the transportation of big game without proper tags affixed, transferring big game licences to other individuals, and the operation of an ATV outside an approved area.
The penalties resulting from these convictions include fines and the prohibition from big game hunting.
The charges were originally laid as a result of a two-week investigation in November 2008.

Let me guess, caught with a moose or two (which happen to be over populated).
Wonder if the same will apply to the french inuit that killed 250 endangered caribou on NFLD & Lab turf, right in front of fish and wildlife and RCMP eyes?

As well Ms. Dunderhead will give these fellas their property back?? Not a chance of a snowball in hell.!!!

B'ys, you didn't learn from the Innu in Quebec did you? You dumb a$$es. Ya have to go out in force to scare away the keystone cops. Then you can get away with absolutely anything.
