Eastern Health launched today a mobile mental health response service - a vehicle staffed with mental health nurses and social workers to intervene in cases of people in crisis.
The unit will be able to step into situations that otherwise might require police to detain people under the Mental Health Act, especially people at risk of harming themselves or other people.
Beyond that, the mobile team will be able to work with people who otherwise might be unwilling to visit a hospital for help.
"We are striving to provide the most accessible and most effective mental health and addictions services for all those deemed to be at risk," said Eastern Health CEO Vickie Kaminski.

Why did it take Eastern Health and Government so long to start this very positive and vital service? The research, results of the research findings and recommendation to begin this program asap were completed several years ago and should have been started immediately. Its about time that both Eastern Health and Government start acting on the professional recommendations that they receive regarding such matters in a more efficient and effective manner. It would go a long way to provide such necessary services sooner rather than later.

Oh Lookie, something else for Eastern Health to mess up. You really need to love it when organizations make it so easy. Maybe this is the replacement for the Waterford, after all no new money was allocated for legislated upgrades recently at the Waterford. If they provide service out of a mobile unit they will not need to provide access to bathrooms. The plot thickens.

Don't be scared nate just cause they have a way to come get you now.
BTW dummy, Jerome heavily alluded to a new mental hospital being built. That never sank though your thick skull at all did it?
