Eastern Health announced today that the Recovery Centre will re-open in Building 532 in Pleasantville on Monday.
The Recovery Centre, which is a service of Eastern Health's Mental Health and Addictions Program, closed in March 2009 because of severe flooding in the building.
In the interim, the Recovery Centre has operated from St. Clare Avenue in St. John's. The building has undergone extensive repairs and renovations and will offer, for the first time, three separate rooms for adolescent clients experiencing withdrawal symptoms - two rooms for males and one for female clients.
It will offer 18 beds in total with the option of adding more, if necessary. The renovations also provided for the addition of a nursing station and enhanced the observation area, creating a more functional and secure space for the service.
"We are extremely pleased to be able to return to the Recovery Centre's original location in Pleasantville," said Eastern Health President and CEO Vickie Kaminski. "The re-construction of our main facility, made possible in part by an investment of $90,000 from the provincial government, allows us to offer an enhanced recovery service to individuals struggling to overcome addictions."

The last time I visited RecoveryCentre was not happy with the way I was treated, was disrespected and I was the only female there and beginning for serious help,After a day I was ask to leave becaus guy who was staying there had recieved smokes and when I had recieved a pack smokes to me was denied and asked to leave in the mean while the people working there had asked the others to get as much info out of me so they can go to the police with the info.As I needed help with the addiction I was facing at that period in my life was left help less and had my eyes open to the fact that no one really wanted to help me.Thanks for that however I did get my addiction under control on my own and doing well thank you.So you can give thart info to the RNC for what it's worth,The worth you people have for helping poeple with addiction is not good and wanting to help someone better there lives.
