There are always the handful who just cannot be positive about anything and anyone. The late George Burns (comedian) put it best when he quoyed a lot of people just walk around with respect and compassion in their shoes where they never can and have to show it, it just stays in their shoes forever.
A little respect goes a long ways, even if it is just a spoonful. -

I am anxiously awaiting this announcement and am confident any of the potential candidates will direct this police agency into an even better direction - more so than the most recent chiefs. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, from all major media counts, has been slipping with regard to direction and this will now be a chance to right the wrongs.

I think Danny should ask the Liberals to make all of the appointments. That way we could go back to the good ol' days when the AG was barred from looking at the books. Danny is to open and modern for the hide it and don't get caught philosophy.

There was never an application process for the Chief of Police, it was always a position that was appointed. In the past when other Premiers appointed a new Chief, no one spoke up, but all of a sudden when Danny does it, he is a dictator. I don't support Danny, nor do I like him, but this process was in place well before Danny was around.

Appointment? What no open application process needed, just being on Dan's side these days is good enough I guess. Just like his plastic surgeon buddies letter yesterday speaking out against the medical association. Danny will buy off who and what he needs or so it seems.

I think the Premier will not be the only person responsible for such a honourable selection for a new and well respected Chief Of Police. Whoever is selected, he or she will have a lot of responsability to see that the law and order of the province is enforced 100%.
We all respect our police force and we want the best of protection for everyone.
There is a time to put politics on the backburner when the law is being enforced by our police and decisions to protect the population is always at risk for their well being and that of our citizens. -
