Police in Deer Lake are investigating a crash at the area airport.
RCMP officials say around 9:30 this morning they were called to the airstrip after a single-engine plane crashed into the runway.
The crash was not serious and the pilot - the only person on board - was not injured.
Officers say the pilot was trying to land and the nose of the aircraft collided with the runway.
The crash caused the airport to close while the wreckage was removed from the runway, but operations have since resumed.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
