Police are investigating a death after a man fell overboard from a boat in Fortune this morning.
Officers with the Burin Peninsula RCMP say a 57-year-old man was brought to hospital in Grand Bank early this morning after falling from the longliner when the boat was on its way back to Fortune.
The boat's crew pulled the man, who also worked on the boat, from the water and took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police and Occupational Health and Safety officials are looking into the incident. More details will be reported as they become available.
