Emergency crews were tasked to help a fisherman having chest pains last night, but couldn't get to him because of the weather.
A mayday call went out late last night after a 38-year-old man on board the Terry & Sisters was suffering from chest pains.
A Cormorant helicopter was tasked out of 103 Search and Rescue Squadron in Gander, but according to officials with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, the weather was too bad and visibility too low for the chopper to reach the boat.
The coast guard boat Cape Roger was in the area and also tasked to help.
The man was transferred to the Cape Roger without incident and was held there until morning when the weather lifted and the chopper could get to the boat. The man was airlifted to the Health Sciences Centre arriving around noon.
The condition of the man isn't yet known.
