Tourism Minister Terry French announced today that Conne River will upgrade its softball facilities with the help of $15,000 from the Community Capital Grant Program.
"The provincial government is pleased to support the expansion of the existing softball field, including the addition of a scoreboard and washroom facilities," French said. "This investment will offer long-term benefits for recreation and sport programming for all ages throughout the community."
Conne River is among more than 30 communities throughout the province which will receive funding to purchase equipment and upgrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through the most recent allocation of $450,900 through the Community Capital Grant Program.
The Community Capital Recreation Grant Program is an application-based program that provides funding of up to $15,000 to assist municipalities and recreation commissions to improve their recreation and sports infrastructure.
