Education Minister?Darin King has named chartered accountant Gerry Shortall the consultant who will oversee a review of overpayments made by the College of the North Atlantic to some employees of the Qatar campus.
Shortall will begin his work immediately, according to a news release.
King said Shortall brings "extensive professional expertise in public accounting, and has significant direct experience in governance and auditing for public institutions in Newfoundland and Labrador."
Shortall will supervise the development of the audit workplan, review the results of the audit and make recommendations to the province.
The audit will review the contracts of the employees, identify how the errors occurred and verify the overpayment calculations.
"I am confident that (Shortall's) oversight role in this review will lead to a stronger financial system for College of the North Atlantic," King said.

    ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!
Yet again one of the Williams Fab Five get another assignment....check the Nalcor Boards for the surprising overlap.
Surely there is one more competent person in the Province?
Next thing you know, the charity of another one of his Fab Five will receive a third provincial donation...that's right, they already did today.

There are many competent and professional individuals in this province who could have undertaken this review.

It is unfortunate that you have to be a Tory insider as one of your credentials.

The era of Danny Williams will be referred to as Smallwood II.
