The RCMP says it has still not received the results of an autopsy being carried out today on human remains found off the main highway between North Harbour and Branch in St. Mary's Bay.
Thus, there will be no further updates on the case until Tuesday at the earliest.
The remains were located at approximately 8 a.m. Sunday and were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for determination of cause of death.
Placentia Whitbourne RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit East, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, are continuing the investigation. At this point the death is being treated as suspicious.
