Looking to engage in a little summer love?
Well, the provincial government wants you to share your love of the province within the province this summer by vacationing closer to home.
According to a news release, residents can expect to receive a copy of "Summer Love" in their mailboxes, starting this week. It's a publication offering special vacation packages to encourage summer travel within Newfoundland and Labrador.
"This is the latest installment in our For the Love of NL campaign, which encourages Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to get out and enjoy the natural, historic and cultural attractions available right here in our own backyards," Tourism Minister Terry French said. "There's hiking, sea kayaking, golf getaways, museums to visit, a host of musical and theatrical events - and so much more. The brochure offers a number of vacation packages, and I hope people will take advantage of some terrific deals and get out and explore what this province has to offer."
The "Summer Love" campaign combines radio and direct mail with participation from more than 50 tourism industry operators, offering various packages for summer getaways. Packages are also available at www.fortheloveofnl.ca.

Me and my wife had an 'at home' vacation back in 2007. We took a full week and drove across NL and had cabins and hotels prebooked. We took in the Western Brook Pond boat tour in Gros Morne which was beyond amazing. This vacation was just as much exciting as our vacation to Italy and Greece.
