Tagged as "Canada's best and greenest music festival," this year Evolve will include more than 100 artists, with Hey Rosetta! among the headliners.
Other acts include: Easy Star All-Stars, Pretty Lights, Champion & His G-Strings, Dubtribe, Old Man Luedecke, Jenn Grant, Fred Penner, David Myles and Ganga Giri.
At Evolve, workshops (the schedule is found at the festival in the "Awareness Village") are combined with the music. Among this year's workshops are: introduction to massage, yoga, hammock construction and hoola hoop dance instruction.
The festival operates on a "clean concert pledge," with recycling centres at all venues.
Paper materials, including posters, are printed on recycled products and festival T-shirts are made with organic and recycled material under fair-labour practices. Festival vendors use biodegradable food packaging and eco-cutlery. Carpooling is encouraged.
The festival is set to run from July 23-25 in Antigonish, N.S.
Tickets for Evolve (www.evolvefestival.com) are available at Ticketpro.ca and all Ticketpro locations across Canada.
