A man in his early 20s was transported to hospital tonight and is listed in critical condition after his car left the Trans-Canada Highway around 6 p.m.
According to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, the driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle. He was travelling west on the Trans-Canada Highway in the area of the Pitts Memorial overpass, left the roadway, veered into the center median and struck the concrete support pillar of the overpass.
