One person dead after car crashes into utility pole

One person died early this morning when a car crashed into a power line pole on Freshwater Road in St. John's, cracking off the pole.
The accident occurred about 1:15 a.m. on Freshwater Road, just east of Crosbie Road.
The RNC closed Freshwater Road to the public, from Oxen Pond Road to Prince Philip Drive, while accident investigation and forensic identification officers conduct a thorough examination of the scene.
