About 6:24 a.m. Monday, Bonavista RCMP received a complaint of an attempted break and enter at the Midway Irving on Route 230.
Culprits attempted to gain access through the front door but were unsuccessful, but a lot of damage was done to the door during the attempt.
On Tuesday about 10:30 p.m., the RCMP received a complaint of a break and enter at a cabin on the Ocean Pond Resource Road. This incident was located off Route 230 about two kilometres east of the Midway Irving.
Upon checking, six cabins in the area were broken into.
Police have no doubt the two files are related and that all crimes were committed on or close to Monday night.
The RCMP would like to advise all cabin owners in this area to be aware of suspicious activity and to report any information they have to police or use Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
