The ninth annual MUN Alumni wine tasting event will be held Friday, June 18 at Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall on Memorial's St. John's campus. Tickets are $50 per person and includes a $10 taxi voucher. For tickets and more information, call 737-2313 or e-mail rsvpalumni@mun.ca.

Celebrate the city's birthday in one of it's oldest neighbourhoods, Riverhead, on Saturday, June 19, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. All attractions in the historic west end of our city are open and free: Apothecary Hall, George Street United Church, Newman Wine Vaults, Railway Coastal Museum, St. John's Archives.

The Crime Prevention committee, the RCMP and Powell's Supermarket would like you to come out from 9-10:30 a.m. for a bicycle rodeo and pancake breakfast in Bay Roberts June 20. The rodeo will be held in the parking lot of Powell's Supermarket in Bay Roberts.

Tuesday, June 22

Attend a lantern building workshop at the Victoria Park pool house, just off of Angel Place in the park. This year's festival will be held July 24. Workshops held Tuesdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. throughout the month of June. We will be adding a Thursday workshop in July. Also, you can drop by the pool house on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will happily take donations of glass jars. Also, volunteers needed for the festival.

Wednesday, June 23

Royal Astronomical Society of Canada monthly meeting/free public lecture will be Wednesday, June 23, 8 p.m. at MUN Chemistry/Physics Room C-2045. Free parking in Lot 5 at rear of building. Speaker: Dr. Caroline Roberts, president Thoth Technology Inc. Topic: Restoration of the Algon-quin Radio Observatory.

Thursday, June 24

- Prince of Wales Collegiate will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2010-2011 and a number of events have been planned for former faculty, staff and students. The first event will be a tree planting in the courtyard on June 24. For more information and to register, visit www.pwc50.com.
