The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is advising business owners of fraudulent American currency circulating throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
On Monday, the RNC received several complaints of fraudulent American bills in the St. John's area.
The RNC's Economic Crime Unit has been working with the RCMP in relation to this investigation and it has been determined that the counterfeit $20 American bills are in circulation throughout the entire province.
The RNC Economic Crime Unit is continuing to investigate this crime and seeking the assistance of the general public. Anyone who may have any information in relation to this matter is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
