The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) - Atlantic Region has embarked on the second year of its mobile public awareness and education campaign, the CBCF Tour for the Cure.
The campaign encourages women in Atlantic Canadian to be regularly screened for breast cancer.
According to the foundation, current rates of screening are below the national target of 70 per cent.
In 2010, the foundation's pink bus will make 192 stops in 131 communities across Atlantic Canada, including many new communities, select festivals and events and hospitals.
On board the bus, visitors will view interactive displays and learn about breast health and breast screening. Also available on the bus will be contact information for the provincial breast cancer screening programs.
Three tour representatives will travel with the bus and offer their support to visitors in either English or French.
