According to information provided by producers, 44,619 people across Canada applied to be on "Wipeout" during the one month applications were being accepted. Applications required the completion of a 67-question form and the submission of photos.

Applicants include Olympic medallists and both CFL and NHL players. There was also a professional bull rider and a walrus trainer.
