RCMP in the Grand Falls-Windsor District are advising the motoring public that numerous traffic checkpoints will be carried out during the period leading up to, during and following the Salmon Festival in the central Newfoundland town.
The checkpoints will be ongoing at various points between July 15-19.
The main focus of these checkpoints will be centred in the immediate Grand Falls-Windsor area, and in particular, in the vicinity of Red Cliff Rocks Campground.
Motorists may experience checkpoints at other locations outside the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor.
The purpose for these checkpoints is to assist in the prevention and enforcement of impaired driving.
