A body recovered last week along the shoreline in the Dead Man's Bay area, just outside St. John's harbour, has been identified as 53-year-old Anthony "Tony" Nolan.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's Major Crime and Forensic Identification units are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to investigate the details surrounding his death.
The RNC are requesting the assistance of the public to provide information regarding the deceased's whereabouts from July 6 after 10 p.m. to July 8 at 7 a.m.
Tony Nolan resided in the central area of St. John's.
On July 8, the RNC responded to a report of a body in the water. A lobster fisherman noticed the body and notified authorities.
