A former member of the Exxon Valdez Commision said today that the BP disaster could have been prevented if the lessons learned from the Exxon Valdez were implement elsewhere.
NOTEABLY, that an independent 'citizens' council should have been implemented kile was done in Alaska after the Valdez incident.
Such would have had the power and the resources to independently investigate the procedures and regulations and prevention mechanisms that were in place --- and ensure that what was needed was done.
Such is also needed in the NL offshore and for Placentia Bay and the SOuth Coast.
