Police have released an update on the status of a family of four who fell from a third-floor window of their home on Buckmaster's Circle Thursday night. The family was escaping a fire in the home, reported to the St. John's Regional Fire Department shortly after midnight.
The four females - age 34, 31, 13 & 12 - had originally been reported as having injuries that are "not life-threatening but are serious" in a morning report. That has now been amended.
"Injuries have not been confirmed by medical personnel as of this date/time, but are believed to be more serious than initially reported," the RNC stated late this afternoon. "All four remain in hospital and sustained what are believed to be serious injuries."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
More on this story will be made available in tomorrow's edition of The Telegram.
