Float plane owners in the province will have more space to park their planes, as a result of Crown land lots available through an upcoming public draw, it was announced today.
Twenty-seven lots at Paddy's Pond, ranging in price from $14,000 to $24,600, will be sold as grants (outright ownership) to be used exclusively as sites for float plane hangars.
"We are pleased to make these lots available through a public draw to fulfill a particular need in the province," said Environment Minister Charlene Johnson in a news release.
"Our provincial Crown land is a valuable resource, and we are committed to managing this resource wisely. Efforts like this one are important in terms of its effective management."
Float plane owners interested in obtaining a lot must submit an application to the Eastern Regional Lands Office.

This is very bad news for those who enjoy boating and fishing in THE best nearby pond to fish in, in the St. John's area. I have fished all across this island's inland waters from Red Indian Lake to Jedore Lake and have to say Paddy's Pond still has some very big fish in it after my 40 years of going there. I for one would rather NOT see Paddy's Pond open to development around it's shoreline. Was there any public discussion on this ? The friend of what government official wants a lot to build a cottage for his float plane ? Chances are good this is why gov has gone this direction.
