Steve Haley hails from the South-Eastern Placentian shores of the Newfoundland isle. His folk music is inspired by whispers in the dark, stories swapped by firelight and tales passed from the lip of one generation to the ear of the next. The dark and sometimes strange songs tell of the woods, witches, winged creatures, wars, dreams and ghosts. Haley has passed on his tales by releasing “Two Steps in the Dark” (2009), “Birdsong” (2010) and “By the Back Stair” (2011). Before sailing the salty pond to his current home of Nova Scotia, Steve was known as the lead singer and acoustic rhythm guitar of “The Human Soundtrack” in St. John’s. You may now encounter this songwriter referenced as Banded Stilts where, depending on the time and place, he could be holding the stage alone or sharing it with other musical friends.
