The Burning Hell is the alter-ego of ukulele player and all-purpose nerd Mathias Kom.

While the band can occasionally bloom into a multi-instrumental monster with many heads and arms, with members all across Canada and Europe, The Burning Hell is now happily based in St. John's.

The essence of The Burning Hell is music to dance to while laughing about death and smiling out of the side of your mouth.

NOW Magazine says "Mathias Kom is one of Canada's most underrated lyricists. Even the Burning Hell's most celebratory songs are infused with a caustic, bittersweet wit that makes you smirk. Flux Capacitor...amounts to a skewed cabaret-pop escapade as fun as it is sad. Not an easy balance to pull off."
