Raised from humble roots in the wilds of Labrador, The Flummies recently celebrated the release of “The River,” the eighth album from popular award-winning Labrador Inuit performing artists. Over the past three decades, from their home base of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Labrador, The Flummies have performed in many provinces and territories of Canada and in Germany. On the heels of their national television release documentary, “LAB-Originals” (Bravo! Canada and APTN), the group gives its fans 12 new songs. Their songs, known as “happy music,” are inspired by culture and are a mixed contemporary combination of accordion-flavoured country-rock. The group has been honoured as Aboriginal Artists Of The Year by the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador and by the East Coast Music Association and inducted into the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council’s Hall Of Honour.
