Katie Power began recording her own music at the age of 12 on her old-school tape player at home. Singing has always been Katie’s option to get through hard and happy times. She picked up the guitar in 2007 and realized she could sing and play. She is a strong songwriter with an open heart and this has helped shape her style. She is a pleasure to see live with a quirky, yet earthy feel. Her music has been described as a combination of indie, folk and blues sensation. Born and raised in Newfoundland she describes the province as her haven — heaven on Earth. Katie is busy these days building her dream “Alive Adventures & Discovery Camp.” You can see more about that at www.aliveadventures.ca. If she’s not leading sing alongs with the kids at her summer camp, after school programs or drumming circles, she is somewhere in the community singing inspirational songs to bring people together and to ultimately lift them up where they belong. She is a realist and a compassionate soul who began performing her own music in 2010 and is planning to release an album in the near future.
