Hi George, Thanks for your comments. I'm Sarah, and I wrote the story. You're right - John Clarke runs the night for the NL Folk Arts Society, which is no longer called the Folk Arts Council. My apologies for that error. Regarding your comment about the Duke, I have an interview here with Jean Hewson in which she says that Folk Night was held at the Duke for a brief period in the 1980s. So that's what I went on. Cheers, -Sarah Smellie

Just had several visitors in town and realized we were getting too old for staying out late to listen to music. Is there any pubs in town catering to an early to bed crowd of tourists. Couldnt find anything advertised. Our visitors love the music-they just cant stay out past ten. I expect with aging babyboomers that there may be a growing market for early evening or afternoon entertainment in the pubs and bars-especially in the summer.

The organization that runs the Folk Night at the Ship is called the NL Folk Arts Society, not Council, and I don't ever remember it being at the Duke of Duckworth, but thanks for the article. Great to hear it's still going strong.
