The Burning Hell is the alter-ego of songwriter and ukulele-slinger Mathias Kom. Based in St. John’s, The Burning Hell spends a lot of time wandering the globe, playing both intimate shows and big festivals from Vancouver to Vilnius and everywhere in between. The band has garnered acclaim for its hyperactive live shows and caustic yet sincere lyrics, believing as it does that songs about the inevitability of death can also be fun to dance to. In 2012, The Burning Hell both made and broke a record: the band recorded its newest album “People” (to be released in spring 2013) in Berlin with producers Norman Nietzsche and Ramin Bijan. Later in the summer, The Burning Hell set a new world record, playing 10 shows in 10 countries in less than 24 hours. But the band isn’t tired yet, and 2013 promises to be action-packed, with shows across Canada and Europe promoting the newest album and the newest adventure. For a taste of the last album, "Flux Capacitor",  click here to give a listen to “Nostalgia”. (Incorrect information in this article has been corrected.)
