A singer-songwriter and creator of unique, soulful sounds, Maggie Meyer releases her latest CD, “Bound,” produced by Dave Panting Oct. 2 at The Ship. Meyer has opened for acclaimed Canadian musician and songwriter Sarah Slean at the Holy Heart Theatre and playing with the likes of Lindsay Ferguson (another songstress from Wakefield, who will join her in October to release her album “Monkeys Under Stars”). She’s no stranger to the Black Sheep stage, a trendy Canadian hotspot in Wakefield, Que. Her performances take the shape of evening solo gigs, group performance initiatives and festivals, and songwriter circle participation. She continues to play on the downtown St. John’s bar circuit. You might have heard Maggie on CBC radio or CHMR. You might have seen her on local TV programs. In December 2010 she hopped on board the “Feast of Cohen” lineup along with Amelia Curran and other well-known, seasoned local performers. What’s next? The newest project, “Bound.” The release will be Tuesday, Oct. 2 at The Ship. 9 p.m. $10 cover and will feature Allie Duff and the one-of-a-kind Lindsay Ferguson. Copies of “Bound” will be sold at Fred’s Records in downtown St. John’s. Click here to listen to a taste of the new release “I’ll Get Mine” at thetelegram.com.
