Hailing from Hickman’s Harbour, Random Island, award-winning singer/songwriter Ashley Fayth flawlessly blends the traditional music of the Newfoundland outports with contemporary pop-folk sounds to create a vibrant, warm and refreshingly quirky style. Her songs are colourful stories set to feel-good rhythms and frustratingly catchy pop melodies, and are garnering airplay (in rotation on more than 100 stations) and industry attention worldwide. Her new album’s first single, “Peanut Butter,” which picked up songwriting awards from both Universal Music and the Canadian Songwriters Association, is currently charting on college radio stations in North America, and has also been featured alongside The Civil Wars and Los Lonely Boys on a compilation released by Inspire Entertainment in the United States. BBC Radio 2’s Alex Lester called Fayth’s music “beautiful,” while talent manager Robert Singerman (REM, Suzanne Vega, James Brown) described her songs as “Pure, simple, clean, well-written, melodic, reaffirming and personable, if not always intimate.”  Ashley was selected to represent Canada on the International Songwriters Tour at venues and music events around the world in early 2012, and will be on tour with her new record, “Wonder Wonder,” later this year.
