The Brad Jefford Trio+ has become a strong force on the St. John’s jazz and improvised music scene. Fusing tradition with their own contemporary sound, the group uses elements from jazz, blues, funk, rock and many other musical genres. Led by guitarist/composer Brad Jefford, they keep the spirit of jazz and improvisation in the forefront whether they are playing one of their funky originals or showing their softer side over a classic ballad. The newly named Brad Jefford Trio+ features Brad Jefford on guitar, Josh Ward on bass, Andrew McCarthy on drums and Greg Bruce on saxophone. The group’s debut recording, “Ageless,” was released in 2011 and nominated for the 2011 Music NL Jazz and Blues Recording of the Year.
