At Ships End is a unique folk/rock band consisting of six members all hailing from St. John’s. They released their first self-titled EP in October 2009 and more recently released their first full length album entitled “Awake”. The band teamed up with local producer Tony Murray and engineer Spencer Crewe to create a final product that shows a more mature and diverse side of the band with more emotional creativity and energy than in the past. The new album, consisting of 10 original songs features several guest vocal performances including contributions from Matthew Hornell, Kalem Mahoney and Maureen Ennis. “Awake” is available in select stores across Newfoundland and on iTunes. From that new disc, click here to listen to “Jack of All Trades.”

I visited NFL in June and wanted some rollicking music for the 2 weeks moving across the island. The staff at Fred's recommended At Ships End and a few other bands and I'm so glad they did. A fantastic debut that's still on high rotation back home in Tasmania. Maybe they'll tour Downunder one day!? Adam Muyt
