Bruce Templeton will share his stories of “assisting” Santa over the past 33 years at an event at the LSPU Hall Thursday evening.
Templeton, of St. John’s, is the author of “The Man in the Red Suit: A Memoir,” an account of his time spent visiting hospitals, schools and in the annual St. John’s Christmas parade.
Full of emotional, thought-provoking, happy and heartbreaking tales, the book made the Globe and Mail’s national bestsellers list in October, reaching the No. 4 spot in Canadian non-fiction and placing seventh in the hardcover non-fiction category.
Templeton has been donating a portion of the proceeds from the book to Rotary International’s polio campaign, helping to immunize 6,000 children against polio as a result.
Amy House, the LSPU Hall’s artistic animateur, will interview Templeton live on stage at Thursday’s adult-only event, with champagne and hors d’oeuvres to follow.
