In 2010, Repartee released their first EP, “Lost Like We All Are,” to a sold-out crowd at The Ship Pub in St. John’s. That same year they were named the Newfoundland Herald’s prestigious “Band To Watch” for 2011. Their 2011 self-titled debut was released to critical acclaim and strong sales, and was shortlisted for the 2011 Atlantis Music Prize. Repartee has since been touring feverishly and passionately in Newfoundland and beyond. They’ve showcased at the Halifax Pop Explosion, the East Coast Music Awards and Canadian Music Week. They’ve shared the stage with Mother Mother, Hey Rosetta!, USS, Jenn Grant, Rich Aucoin, Shotgun Jimmie, Michou and The Novaks, with more and more bands calling them to share a bill. Most recently, the band won all five 2012 MusicNL Awards they were nominated for, including: FACTOR Album of the Year, Group of the Year, Rising Star, Entertainer of the Year and Molson Pop/Rock Artist of the Year. In March, the band travelled to Halifax for the 2013 East Coast Music Awards, where they were nominated for Rising Star Recording of the Year. With an electric live show, hooky melodies and poignant, honest lyrics, Repartee is poised to do good things for pop music, and for Newfoundland. Repartee will be part of the 2013 George Street Festival Aug. 5 when they will perform on the same bill with Hey Rosetta!
