Tuckamore Festival and the City of St. John's present award-winning Duo Concertante in a free concert on Friday, June 21 at 8 p.m. at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, The Kirk, as part of the St. John's Day celebration weekend. Local Gamers to Hold Charity Event in Support of Canadian Food Sharing Association St. John's, Newfoundland on June 22. Cheat for Charity is to take place in the College of the North Atlantic gymnasium, 1 Prince Phillip Dr., from 12-9 p.m., and is open to gamers of all types, whether you're a seasoned Magic fan, or just someone looking to have a good time and donate to a worthwhile cause. The event is a co-ordinated effort by NL Gamer, Goodwill Gaming, and St. John's TableTop Community. The charity mechanism of Cheat for Charity involves donating non-perishable food items and money for "cheats" during the games held at the event. Guests are free to come up with cheats of their own to play during casual games. Along with tournaments in Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer 40k, Super Mario 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldeneye 64, and Pokemon Stadium, guests are welcome to bring their own games, or play single-run games from those donated by our volunteers and sponsors. An opera fundraiser at the historic Garrick Theatre in Bonavista on Sunday, June 23 at 2:30 p.m. A cast of performers including renowned Canadian opera singers, Brent Calis and Stephanie Domingues, will be performing Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Tickets are $25 and can be purchased by calling the Garrick Box Office at 468-5777. The pre-show brunch is at 11:30 a.m. at Fishers' Loft in Port Rexton. The cost is $75 with a tax receipt issued for $50. All proceeds go to the Garrick Theatre in support of Opera on the Avalon.
