HomeLife Real Estate raises $15,000 for JDRF
Doing their part to help in the fight against Type 1 diabetes, local members of Homelife Realtors recently passed over a cheque to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for $15,000, representing their year of fundraising activities to date. VOWR thanks supporters for $26-K radiothon success
VOWR, the pioneer  radio  station  in  Newfoundland and Labrador recently held a radiothon raising funds to buy new broadcast equipment enabling the station to provide a better service to its listeners. The event was successful, raising  more than $26,000 for which the volunteers are very thankful. As part of the radiothon, Reid Music  of St. John’s donated a Fender acoustic guitar as a draw prize. Here, Harriet Porter of Long Pond, C.B.S. is presented with the guitar by Geoff  Peters of VOWR. The 90-year-old said she was thrilled to win the prize, and will donate it to the Salvation Army in Long Pond in memory of her late husband Eric. — Submitted photo
