GREAT and helpful article. Thanks! I would like to suggest some thoughts... Freezer bags have an additive in the plastic that helps them tolerate the cold. Make sure you get a Freezer Bag with a double locking seal. One awesome company that I buy my freezer bags from in bulk is http://www.interplas.com/reclosable-bags/minigrip-food-storage-bags ( The ones on this page are both for Freezer and Refrigerator. ) they sell freezer bags that have the white blocks on them so you can label and code what is in the bag as well. So in 6 months when you find some bag on the bottom of your freezer and you are not sure if it is tomato soup or chocolate pudding you won't be disappointed.

The freezer bags also should have 2 ziplock sealing zippers (?) to make sure to have a very good seal. I have found that http://www.interplas.com/reclosable-bags/minigrip-food-storage-bags carries wholesale priced, excellent quality freezer bags.
