St. John’s — Local guitar virtuosos Duane Andrews and Craig Young have joined together and will release their debut album next week.

“Charlie’s Boogie” will be released Nov 5. Featuring 11 instrumental tracks and one vocal track, the album represents the duo’s respective influences, which range from gypsy jazz to bluegrass to Newfoundland traditional. Two of the tracks are original compositions by Andrews and Young.
The album title track is a nod to late Canadian guitarist Smiley Bates — it’s a song both Andrews and Young learned on their guitars as kids.
The pair will be touring in support of “Charlie’s Boogie,” and will stop in Freshwater/Carbonear at the Freshwater United Church hall Nov. 29, The Ship pub in St. John’s Nov. 30 and Fred’s Records (for a free and family-friendly event) Dec. 1. Tickets for those events are available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Other stops include locations in Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
“Charlie’s Boogie” is available at Fred’s Records and can be downloaded on iTunes.
