Andrea Cooper’s self-portraits are probably not what you’d expect.

St. John’s-based artist Andrea Cooper will sell her collection of photos, paintings and lithographic prints at St. Michael’s printshop this Saturday afternoon.

“Bear Playing in Rocks” features Cooper in lingerie and a giant plush bear head, while her “Cold” series sees her as a 70-foot woman, drinking on the streets of St. John’s. “The Swinger” is a collage of Cooper posing on a couch in a magazine photo of Charlie Sheen’s 1999 tour bus.

On Saturday, Cooper will sell off her personal archive of photos, paintings and lithographic prints from 1996 to 2010, in a pop-up sale at St. Michael’s Printshop on Harbour Drive in St. John’s from noon until 5 p.m.

Cooper, who works in public relations and marketing by day, has a master’s degree in visual studies from the University of Toronto and a bachelor of arts degree from Concordia. Her video “Honey” debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Forum Expanded in 2010, and she has shown her photo and video work in galleries across the country.

Cooper’s next exhibit will be an installation at Eastern Edge gallery in St. John’s this summer, as part of the Sound Symposium.
