Irish singer Danny O’Flaherty will present an evening of Irish and American folk music at the D. F. Cook Recital Hall at MUN’s School of Music in St. John’s Saturday.
Raised in Ireland’s Connemara region, O’Flaherty emigrated to the United States in the early 1970s, and began performing Irish folk music around the country.
The St. Pat’s Dancers will join O’Flaherty on stage at the recital hall, as well as on tour this summer, when the dancers will travel to Ireland for O’Flaherty’s “Calling You Home to Ireland” tour June 27 to July 7.
That tour will focus on towns where the Irish ancestors of many Newfoundlanders lived and worked. For details on the tour, visit www.travelceltic.com.
Tickets for Saturday’s show are $15 and are available at O’Brien’s Music Store as well at the door. Showtime is 7 p.m.
