St. John’s — Last year, as an experiment, four Newfoundland storytellers put their skills to the test, offering some recitations to the public with the hopes of making enough money to break even, maybe with a couple books for a beer or two after the show left over.

The result was a sold-out show that they’re recreating this weekend.
“From Stage to Stage 2” will see Dave Paddon, Hubert Furey, Harry Ingram and Dave Penny putting some of their observations and experience into recitation form, reminiscing about days gone by just telling a funny tale.
It’s a Newfoundland tradition, they say, and they’re bringing it, once again, from the fishing stage to the theatre stage.
The show will happen at the LSPU Hall in St. John’s Friday night. Tickets are $18 (including surcharge) and are available now at the LSPU Hall box office, by calling 753-4531, and online at www.rca.nf.ca.
