Local singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ilia Nicoll is releasing her long-awaited album, “Caterwaul,” tonight.

Nicoll, recently voted by readers of The Overcast as one of the city’s Top 5 most original songwriters, was previously known for performing with her brothers Jake and Billy in Fimos and The Newish Klezmer Ensemble.

“Caterwaul” features Nicoll on vocals, guitar and strings, as well as Jake on drums, Darren Brown on bass and lap steel, Noah Bender on guitar and John Duff on trombone.

Nicoll’s release party will happen at The Ship starting at 11 p.m., with Waterfront Fire and Gala (Aley Waterman) also performing.

Cover is $10 at the door.
