Tickets to take in all the laughter and merriment of the closing gala of the upcoming 2010 Screech Comedy Festival in St. John's will go on sale on this Thursday, May 13, at noon.
The CBC comedy gala, scheduled for June 13, will be hosted by Shaun Majumder and feature: Mike Bullard, Derek Edwards, Trent McClellan, Tracy Smith and Lorne Elliott. Also announced in the line-up are: John Sheehan, Jonny Harris, Berni Stapleton, Paul Edwards and Bill MacIntosh.
It will be the big finale for the festival, opening on June 5 with a show at Holy Heart Theatre. The opening will feature Louis C.K., who has performed on the late night stages of David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien.
Later in the festival, Bullard will be hosting "Stand-Up Spotlight" shows at the Bella Vista and the Sheraton with comedians such as Edwards and Elliott. As well, Majumder will lead three other shows at the Majestic Theatre. They will include a collection of his fellow comedians and friends.
Perhaps most importantly, the festival will have an open mike night on Thursday, June 10.
