Winner in Telegrams Readers Choice Contest took the money and ran

Diane McCarthy of Bell Island, The Telegram's Readers' Choice Contest winner, selected the prize of $10,000 cash when she arrived at The Telegram offices today in The Village Mall to claim her prize.
McCarthy had a choice of three first-place prizes - a 2010 Chevrolet Aveo, a seven-day Walt Disney cruise for four, or $10,000.
Telegram Advertising Manager Keith Connolly presented McCarthy with her prize.
More than 100,000 entries were received during the popular eight-week contest. The draw was held Wednesday when McCarthy's submission was pulled from the pile of entries dumped in a makeshift compound at The Telegram office lobby.
