Summit to get down to business on two fronts

A business development summit being hosted by the St. John's Board of Trade Thursday in St. John's will feature a number of speakers during the Outlook Speakers Series and the Business Show.
Both events will be held simultaneously at the Delta St. John's Hotel and Conference Centre.
According to a news release, the board's business to business and business to consumer trade show will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is open to the public free of charge. More than 90 exhibitors and about 200 business people will be in the Delta ballroom.
The Outlook event, however, is open to delegates only.
It will begin 8 a.m. with registration. Speakers throughout the day will include: Sherry Cooper, executive vice-president and Global Economic Strategist with BMO Financial Group; Paul McCloskey, vice-president East Coast Operations with Husky Energy; provincial Finance Minister Tom Marshall; provincial Business Minister Ross Wiseman; TA Loeffler from the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation at Memorial University; and Don Mills, president and CEO of Corporate Research Associates Inc.
There will also be a Demographics/Major Projects panel with Marc Melanson, regional advisor with Statistics Canada; Mark Shrimpton, senior associate with Stantec; and moderator Dr. Rob Greenwood, director of The Harris Centre at Memorial University.
