Former NFB president dead at age 69

MONTREAL - A former president of the National Film Board has died, Jacques Bensimon was 69.

A NFB news release says Bensimon died Sunday and that funeral services will be held Monday.

Bensimon was president of the NFB from 2001 to 2006.

Earlier in his career he was vice-president of The Banff Television, director general of TFO, the French arm of TVOntario.

He was also a producer, director and writer for several productions when he was an employee of the NFB between 1967 and 1987.
