N.B. man dies after falling from hydraulic lift at Ottawa construction site

OTTAWA - A 39-year-old man from New Brunswick has died after falling from a hydraulic lift in Ottawa early on Friday morning.

Emergency crews were called to a construction site (at Sparks and Bank Street) at around 2:30 a.m.

The man was rushed to hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The victim fell about 4 1/2 metres off the lift, and friends quickly called 911.

The man has been identified as Dale Clinton of Saint John, N.B.

There was no construction scheduled overnight, and police are not treating the incident as an industrial accident.
